Once registered, you can start advertising property(ies) on this website. You will also have unlimited access to the Controlpad, our latest web based property management software.

Scale of Charges

The cost of advertising properties on HouseSearch is as follows:

Spare room £ 48.00
1-3 bed property £ 108.00
4-6 bed property £ 120.00
7+ bed property £ 144.00
 

Please ensure your payments are appropriate to the number and type of properties advertised. Sending incorrect payment will result in a delay to your properties appearing on the website. Fees must be paid per property. Adverts cannot be made live on the website until the advertising fees have been received.

Award Scheme

Award Scheme

In order to advertise properties on the RHSU Housesearch portal, our landlords will need to meet the requirements of the RHSU awards scheme, which is described in detail below:

Bronze Award

Year 1- August 1st 2017- July 31st 2018 Landlords will need to upload:
 

  • Valid HMO Certificate, if applicable
  • Valid Gas Safety Certificate
  • Valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

 

Provide evidence that:

 

  • You are a registered member of a Deposit Protection Scheme (TDS, DPS or My Deposits)
  • Provide a copy of the Assured Shorthold Tenancy or Lodgers Agreement you implement
  • All agencies must provide evidence that they are registered members of a Property Redress Scheme (The Property Ombudsman, The Redress Scheme or The Ombudsman Service)

Silver Award

From 1st August 2018, you will have the opportunity to make your property a ‘Silver awarded’ property, if you:

  • You comply with all requirements listed in Bronze award (Yr 1)
  • You agree to become Runnymede Borough Council Accredited
  • Landlords and agents reduce their administration fees by at least 10%
  • Landlords and agents provide us with up to date copies of inventory reports

Gold Award
  • Everything required in Bronze and Silver awards
  • Fire risk assessment carried out by and independent company (these are provided for free by a number of fire stations and companies across the UK)
  • The inventory report to be carried out by an independent company, or by an SU trained Inventory clerk for a reduced fee
  • Landlords provide deposit deduction lists (if applicable) and receipts for the costs they charge the student tenants. (I.e. cleaning costs of £200 must have a receipt to prove this was actually carried out as a result of student negligence).

Platinum Award
  • Everything outlined in Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
  • Damp and timber report provided every 5 years by an independent company and submitted for SU assessment (these can be carried out for free by companies such as Kenwood LTD).
  • Landlords and agents to charge a maximum of £100 administration fee (subject to change according to the Chancellor's intentions to cap agency fees).
  • Landlord and agents to charge the student no holding fee.

 

NB: The Silver, Gold and Platinum award requirements are subject to change until 1st August 2018. To use the service as a landlord, you will be agreeing that your property reaches and complies with our quality standard requirements and that your advertisement complies with The Competition and Markets Authority Guidelines. A full investigation will take place if it is brought to light that a landlord has been dishonest/misleading in the uploading of their advert and this may lead to a suspension from the service. By using this service, Landlords also agree to fully comply with all legal requirements outlined in Housing, Landlord and Tenant Law and ensure these practices are implemented throughout the tenure.
